Panchkarma Treatment at Kairali

“Panchkarma” is a detoxification process directed by Ayurveda, using herbs and various oils. It has been practiced here at Kairali for years in accordance with “Charaka Samhita”. Panchkarma Treatment uses various natural elimination methods while balancing the different body types or doshas: Vata, Pita, and Kapha to help detoxify the body.
Vamanam, an emesis therapy, is practiced here by trained therapists at our reputed Ayurvedic Healing Village to help eliminate Kapha, which leads to excess mucus, due to which lungs get congested. This causes cold, cough and bronchitis. It also treats skin diseases like psoriasis.
Virechanam eliminates toxic matter from the intestines, by therapeutic purgation to cure jaundice and haemorrhoids.
Niruham is used to fight vata and uses Kashaya Vasti or quath. Vasti introduces herbal concoction into the rectum to help relieve constipation, backaches, kidney stones and joint pain.
Anuvaasan is the oil enema for patients dealing with obesity, anemia, and diabetes. It also combats vata related diseases like joint disorders and arthritis.
Nasyam involves inhaling herbal medicine via nostrils for the treatment of sinus, or infections in throat, nose or head. It helps in conditions of sinusitis, migraine, and chest congestion.
Before and after Panchkarma treatment, proper diet is to be followed, taking Khichadi for three-four days before slowly shifting to the regular diet.
